Terms of Service

Real Sight Reader is a sight-reading practice tool at realsightreader.com, run by the operator of Real Sight Reader (“we”). By using the website you agree to these terms. The iOS app is also covered by Apple's standard end-user licence. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
Real Sight Reader gives you music to read, listens to what you play, and shows you how it went. It is provided free of charge. We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we may stop offering the service altogether. Practice results vary from person to person; we don't promise any particular musical outcome.
Your account
No account is needed. If you choose email sign-in to sync progress, keep access to that email address secure — anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You're responsible for what happens under your session. We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service or these terms.
Your music and your content
Music you import stays yours and stays on your device. You're responsible for having the right to use any music you import. Result images and videos you create from your own practice are yours to share however you like. Synced progress is stored only so the service can show it back to you; we claim no other rights over it.
Our content
The site's exercises, engravings, text, design and code belong to us or our licensors. Public-domain scores remain public domain. You may use the service for personal practice and, if you teach, with your students. You may not copy the service, resell it, or present it as your own.
Something here that shouldn't be?
We work from public-domain scores and material we have the rights to. If you believe anything on the service uses your work without permission, email hello@realsightreader.com with a link to the page and to your work, and we'll take it down right away while we look into it.
Acceptable use
Don't try to break the service, overload it, scrape it at scale, or reach data that isn't yours. Don't use it for anything unlawful. That's the whole list.
Availability, warranty and liability
The service is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it up and accurate, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free results. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service — currently nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending things
You can stop using the service at any time. Signed-in users can delete their account from the completed-session screen, which removes synced data as described in the privacy policy. We may end or restrict your access if you break these terms.
Privacy
How we handle data is set out in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Changes
If these terms ever change, we'll update this page and revise the effective date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
